The Met Office have issued a yellow warning for severe weather, with a risk of flooding in south-west and north of England, Wales, and southern Scotland.
The rain has helped England win the Ashes cricket series, but there have also been incidents of flash flooding, with 60mm of rain possible in some areas of the south west, with Cornwall already seeing power outages.
Flash floods are most likely after a period of dry weather, with the hard ground unable to absorb the volume of water.
