Energy giant British Gas has announced that it will raise the price of fuel to domestic customers by 9.2% from 23rd November.

Those that buy both gas an electricity from British Gas with a dual-fuel bill will see a 9.2% increase, with an 8.4% rise in gas prices and a 10.4% rise in electricity prices for other customers.

The company has blamed the government’s green levies, an increase in the cost of delivering fuel to people’s homes with upgrades to the national grid, and an increase in the price of energy on the global markets for the rise.

This move follows an announcement by energy firm SSE that they will be increasing their prices by 8.2% from 15th November.
