Paris may be the city of love, but some British cities have their own unique romantic charm that attracts visitors from around the world, while others fail to ignite any passion at all.

Hotels.com surveyed more than 2,000 people to find out the nation’s most and least romantic cities, offering some timely advice for couples looking to have a weekend away for Valentine’s Day.

Hull gained the dubious titles of Britain’s least romantic city with 19 percent of the votes, taking the title from the 2014 winner Slough, which did not break the top ten this year.

London was voted the third least romantic city, but also the most romantic city with 18 percent of the votes, so it seems to depend strongly on where exactly you’re visiting and why. The capitol pushed the scenic locations of the Lake District and the Cotswalds into second and fourth place.
