A woman died in a north London garden after reportedly being beheaded.

The victim was discovered at an address on Nightingale Road, Edmonton, at around 13:00 BST, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, but police have said that there is no evidence that points towards the incident being related to terrorism, but it is too early to speculate on the motive for the attack.

Police were called to the property at 13:07 BST after reports of a man brandishing a knife and reportedly attacking a pet cat or dog.

Neighbours were evacuated from their houses by police as the suspect attempt to flee the scene by jumping through back gardens. However, firearms officers on the scene eventually caught the man, who was subdued with a taser.
