More than 300 poeple have reportedly complained about the BBC’s coverage of the snowboarding event at the ongoing Sochi Winter Olympics where Jenny Jones won Team GB’s first ever medal on snow.
During Jones’ slopestyle finale, commentators Ed Leigh and Tim Warwood were excitedly talking over one another along with snowboarder Aimee Fuller.
The most controversial piece of commentating, however, was likely when Fuller was heard to cheer after Austrian snowboarder Anna Glasser had a bad landing which secured Jones her bronze medal. Fuller even jokingly commented about her lack of impartiality, saying:
“Are we supposed to do that? Probably not?”
Whilst 303 complaints have been received, the BBC has also been sent 53 messages of praise about the coverage, with much more chatter online enjoying the friendly and jovial atmosphere in the commentary box which suits the relaxed style of many of the winter sports.
A BBC spokesperson said
“This was a truly historic occasion for Team GB and the commentary team were understandably very excited, however we acknowledge that on occasion this excitement got the better of them and this is something that we will work on for future events.”

I’d like to know the nationality of the moaning b******s – go GBR – I get sick of the knobs that contact things like news watch – the 303 people should get a life and a sense of national pride, otherwise piss off and live somewhere else! I think some people believe that we should never have a bias – get real!!!!!
