An army Apache helicopter has been forced to make an emergency landing in a field at Sunnyside Home Farm in Milltimber, Aberdeenshire.
The helicopter was taking part in Nato’s ‘Operation Joint Warrior’ training exercise at midday, when an engine failure forced the crew to land.
Aberdeen Airport had been put on full alert in preparation for the landing of the £10 million aircraft, but the pilot had to land the Apache in field, 30 miles from the airport.
Both people on board escaped injury.
