Japanese fans have put down the gauntlet to other fans around the world for the title of best behaved and most welcomed back after photographs have appeared online of them clearing up the stands before they left.
The Japanese fans didn’t let their team’s 2-1 loss against Ivory Coast in their opening game get in the way of good behaviour, as a number of pictures posted to Twitter demonstrate.
