Everyone has their favourite songs to drive to, songs to which you tap your hands on the wheel or sing out loud whilst speeding down the motorway. In a recent poll, 30,000 UK motorists were asked which bands or artists performed their favourite driving songs, and there was one clear winner. Queen.
Nearly 75% of respondents dubbed Queen their favourite driving music across the country, with Adele coming in second a fair margin behind with just 25%.
There was a fair amount of regional variation with The Killers, Beyonce, Madonna, and The Rolling Stones getting a good number of votes in the capital but still not making the countrywide top ten. got votes from drivers in the Greater London area, but none made it into the top 10. Whilst in the Midlands, Meatloaf has a large fanbase, along with Rihanna, Take That and The Beatles, and Louis Armstrong stormed the charts in Slough.
