Echopark - Teleportation

I fondly look back upon the gloopy, expressively organic electronica of earlier AnCo recordings – that which sticks it all together. The Feels, and the Strawberry Jam of their discography and in turn everything external to it – everything these albums have subsequently inspired. Whether that be BRAIDS, or the exhilarating lifework of Canarian Pablo Díaz-Reixa or whoever else, its impact is always extraordinarily immediate. And so we come to London-based, though Lecce-born Antonio Elia Forte, who masquerades musically as Echopark. And perhaps rather inevitably, we find ourselves lost in the perfectly woozy imperfections of Teleportation. A dew-laced soundscape littered with tumbling drums, nifty synth interjections and impressionistic daubs of amorphous vocal à la Noah Lennox, there’s a boyishly unworldly aspect to it which is reflected not least in its conception – Forte’s transporting début single was recorded only using a clutch of decrepit mic’s. Though as he begins to make centipede-like tracks, we’d strongly advocate getting them paws on Teleportation pronto below.
