The producers of the upcoming Blade Runner sequel have made a public offer to Harrison Ford to reprise his role from the 1982 sci-fi classic.
Buoyed by Ford reprising his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII, the producers are hoping that the 71-year-old actor is looking to regain some of his former glory.
Ridley Scott is on board to direct the sequel, which has been penned by original screenplay writer Hampton Fancher and Michael Green.
Alcon Entertainment published a statement addressed to Ford, saying:
“We believe that Hampton Fancher and Michael Green have crafted with Ridley Scott an extraordinary sequel to one of the greatest films of all time.
We would be honored, and we are hopeful, that Harrison will be part of our project.”
Blade Runner was adapted by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples from Philip K. Dick‘s novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” and was directed by Ridley Scott, with the film earning nominations for two Academy Awards (Best Visual Effects and Best Art Direction).
