Budget airline Ryanair is looking to bring its super low prices to flights to the United States by 2019.

In an interviews with German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, chief executive Michael O’Leary said that current aircraft for long-hail flights are too expensive and out of stock because of large orders by Gulf airlines such as Emirates. However, he believes that the planes will become available available in the next few years that would allow the airline to offer services to the US by 2019.

He said he was looking to setup a sister company for Atlantic flights connecting eight to 10 European airports with 10 to 15 destinations in the United States, with prices starting at €10 (£8.15). As with their European flights, there would be additional charges for suitcases, in-flight entertainment, and an option for business travellers.

O’Leary shared these plans as Ryanair announced its first fall in annual profits for five years, with profits declining 8.1% to €523 million in the year to March.
