Budget airline Monarch has abolished reclining seats in an effort to reduce incidents of ‘air rage’.

The change comes on the back of a survey by flight search engine and aggregator Sky Scanner, where 90% of Monarch passengers said they were in favour.

60% of cabin crew surveyed also said that they had witnessed “air rage” caused by passengers reclining their seats.

Monarch has also pledged to offer passengers more leg room and “living space” on flights with the new thinner and non-reclining seats.
