Football club Doncaster Rovers have refused to comment on speculation that One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has made a bid to buy the club.

Unconfirmed reports state that the pop star will team up with former Doncaster owner John Ryan on the bid.

The 22-year-old pop star played for the club’s reserve team this season, and has been a long-time supporter of the club after being born in the South Yorkshire town.

Tomlinson and Ryan hope that the star’s celebrity profile will attract new fans and other investors to the struggling side, which were recently relegated from the Championship to League One.
