The private island of Littlequoy in the Scottish Orkney Islands has gone on sale for £600,000, less than the price of a three-bedroom flat in London.
The current owner, George Rouse, has put the island up for sale at Savills as he and his wife are looking for a change of scenery in their retirement, but recommends the community aspect and beautiful views of the island.
The 189 acre island comes with a five-bedroom farmhouse, a workshop, and two livestock sheds, as well as five derelict cottages and a medieval ruin called Sheepsquoy.
Littlequoy is attached by a causeway to the uninhabited 205 acre island of Hunda, which is also included in the sale price.
