A taxi driver has died after his car plunged into the water at Peterhead Harbour at around 08:50 BST this morning.
The man is believed to be in his early forties and drove a blue Hyundai Sonata.
An offshore worker jumped into the water and attempted to help the man as the car submerged, but to no avail according to STV.
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that they recovered the body of a deceased man from the scene.
Nearby roads were closed for around six hours and emergency services inspected the scene, but have now reopened.
Next of kin have been informed, but no further details will be available until a formal identification has been performed.
