Transport for London (TfL) has found itself embroiled in a Twitter spat with a commuter, after @LDNOverground told a commuter complaining about trains being late to “leave early”.
Frustrated by his delays in the morning that were causing him to be late to work @Dan_Down tweeted:
Sort it out @LDNOverground if I'm late once more this month I lose 25% of my salary. Are you lot reimbursing me?

However, London Overground did not seem to be in an apologetic mood and replied:
@dan_down Leave early you will not be late next time. Hope this helps

The commuter was far from impressed with that response:
I arrive at the station expecting the trains to be on time. How dare you answer like that. @LDNOverground

London Overground apologised:
@dan_down Apologies for the response you received earlier. I don't think it was meant to come across like that. I'll get this looked into.

But it seems the damage was done:
Hello @MayorofLondon @david_cameron and @Meg_HillierMP is this how @LDNOverground should be serving us? https://t.co/3h8DxlheUV

Oh for fuck’s sake – get over it you daft twat. Get out of bed earlier and stop whining like a little bitch.
Solid advice, this sandy vagina needs to get out his bed earlier
No, they need to turn up on time, like they state they will on their timetables. You pair of jumped up pricks do you work for them?
nope he needs to get there an hour earlier or find another way to get to work. trains keep running late? find another way
What’s the point of getting up earlier if the trains aren’t going to be there on time anyway?
fucking cry baby…wah wah wah its not my fault. Why don’t people take responsibility for their own actions?
We pay our taxes. We pay over the odds for transport. Trains should run on time more consistently.
