Ten firefighters have been injured tackling the largest fire ever in the West Midlands where 100,000 tonnes of plastic recycling material has gone up in flames.
200 firefighters attended the scene at the Jayplas depot in Smethwick, with the blaze blamed on Chinese lanterns the dropped down on the plastics yesterday evening.
Birmingham International Airport was alerted although flights were unaffected.
