A Florida resident has had his bid to marry his porn-filled laptop denied by a judge in Utah.

Chris Sevier filed a 50-page motion to the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit because he was denied the right to marry his MacBook “machine spouse” by Utah officials, but his motion was overturned.

In a comment on the current US discussion on gay marriage, he argued that his love for his “porn-filled” Apple MacBook is no different to the love shared between gay partners, and that he preferred having sex with his computer “over sex with real women”.

Sevier wrote:

“The clerk denied my request for a marriage licence…my object of affection was outside the scope of the narrow definition.”

However, Judge Robert Hale overturned Savier’s motion, saying:

“Perhaps the motion is satirical. Or perhaps it is only removed from reality. Either way, the motion has no place in this lawsuit.”

Savier’s motion to marry his laptop comes after bringing a suit against Apple last year when he mistyped “Facebook” and saw adult images using Apple’s Safari browser. He claimed these led to the breakdown of his marriage and hospitalisation from emotional distress.
