London commuters will soon be able to bounce their way to work under new plans unveiled by Transport for London (TfL).

The “Bounceway” is due to open in 2015 as a trial alongside nine other projects hoped to make transport around the capital a little less of a drudge as part of TfL’s £1.8 million Future Streets incubator scheme.

The street that will be converted into the world’s longest urban trampoline has yet to be decided, but it will hopefully get more Londoners to see the sunshine as they travel to work, rather than being crushed in the ever more overcrowded Tube.

The trampoline will be surrounded by soft surfacing to try and reduce the chance of injury, and so that those not wearing clothes suitable for jumping along the street can still walk to work.

The Bounceway has been designed in partnership with Architecture for Humanity, a charity which has worked on community projects across the capital, and will be part crowd-funded.
