A Japanese budget airline has faced criticism over revealing new uniforms for its female flight attendants, with some calling the miniskirts sexual harassment.

Skymark Airlines has received complaints from the Japanese Federation of Cabin Attendants, the cabin crew’s union, which said in a statement that they were worried the company were treating women like a “commodity” and that the uniforms would attract sexual harassment from passengers according to the Japan Times.

The airline disputes these claims, but company president Shinichi Nishikubo has said that the company will not force its staff members to wear the uniforms.
