A number of bystanders stepped in to wrestle a homophobic man to the ground after he attacked a gay man at Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport, Texas.

YouTube user Andrew Kennedy captured footage of the attacker launching a tirade of homophobic abuse at a man in a pink shirt at Gate C30 of the airport, possibly because the victim was filming him with his smartphone.

After verbally abusing the man, the attacker kicked him and then tried to punch him across the face when six bystanders intervened and bundled him to the floor.

The attacker was handcuffed by two black police officers while still pinned to the ground, and when asked why he attacked the victim he replied:

“Want me to tell you why I did it? Because this is America, that’s why! The same reason you get to live and breathe and walk Black”
