Militants from the Islamic State (formerly ISIS) have vowed to wipe the United States “off the map”, denying that the air strikes has affected its military power.

In a statement the Islamist group said:

“The Roman dog only pushed his air force in a new mess, and entered an alliance with the Kurds to commit the stupidity he has yet to awake from!

“Apparently this idiot forgot the Iraq swamp where tens of thousands of crusaders were exterminated and tens of thousands injured years ago.

“Not to mention the economic losses and financial crisis that nearly erased the United States off the map; and it will be erased soon by the caliphate knights.”

The militants also claimed responsibility for a recent helicopter crash which claimed the lives of the pilot, a US journalist, and an Iraqi member of parliament.

Meanwhile, Kurdish Peshmerga fighters and Iraqi troops claim to have won back control of of the Mosul Dam as US air strikes continue to target Islamic State military positions. However, Islamic State members claim to have repelled the attack and journalists on the ground say that fierce fighting continues.

The Mosul Dam holds major strategic significance, as it controls the water supply of much of Iraq and can produce up to 1010 megawatts of electricity.
