DNA forensics can be an extremely useful tool for identifying perpetrators as well as exonerating people who have been wrongly convicted or accused. Sri Lanka: News Websites Targeted And Journalists Threatened

On June 29, 2012, the Criminal Investigation Department of Sri Lanka raided offices of two news websites, the Sri Lanka Mirror and Sri Lanka X News. They arrested nine journalists, including the editor, and seized equipments on the grounds that the websites were “propagating false and unethical news on Sri Lanka.”
