A Polish aristocrat has challenged UKIP leader Nigel Farage to a duel to settle their differences ‘as gentlemen’.
In a video posted to YouTube, Prince Jan Żyliński said that he has “had enough of discrimination against Polish people” in the UK, and challenged Farage to a battle of swords or, alternatively, a battle of words in a debate.
Żyliński said:
“I’ve realised that now what I have to do is stand up in defence of my people in this country, in the UK. I’ve had enough of the discrimination against Polish people in this country.
“The most idiotic example I’ve heard of has been Nigel Farage blaming migrants for traffic jams on the M40.
“So, what I’d like to do, Mr Farage, is to challenge you to a duel. An offer of a duel, if you agree. I would like us to meet in Hyde Park one morning with a swords and resolve this matter in the way that an 18th century Polish aristocrat and an English gentleman would traditionally do.
“Are you up for it Mr Farage? Do you agree?
“Alternatively, if you don’t agree, or your Sword is a little bit rusty Mr Farage, we can meet for a different kind of duel, a duel of words, in a TV studio in the run up to the elections.
“I’m up for it and it would really nice if hopefully you agree.”
In response to the challenge, a UKIP spokesperson ignored the offer to debate Farage and said:
“Nigel doesn’t have a sword. And he’s trying to keep violence out of this election campaign. He’s surprised that a Polish prince with his lineage is not more concerned about Poland losing many of its best and brightest young people and now suffering from depopulation.”
