At least 48 people have been killed after Islamic militants attacked a hotel and a police station in a coastal town in eastern Kenya.
Militants reportedly set fire to a number of buildings and were involved in gun battles with police for a number of hours in the town of Mpeketoni, with the attack starting at around 20:30 local time (17:30 GMT) on Sunday.
The militants reportedly used explosives and grenades to target a police station, before stealing weapons to continue their rampage.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, although the country has faced a number of similar incidents in recent years that were orchestrated by the al-Qaeda affiliated al-Shabab.
The UK Foreign Office warns of a high risk of terrorist attacks from al-Shabab in Kenya, and have issued advisories for tourists to stay away from coastal areas.
