A man who was convicted of stabbing 22 children at a primary school in China has been sentenced to death.

Min Yongjun, 37, was found guilty of intentional homicide and condemned to death, a year after his attack on a school in the Henan province.

CCTV footage showed Min chasing pupils through a school gate with a blade before he was beaten away by a roup of adults equipped with wooden brooms.

None of the children died as a result of the attack, but under Chinese law a person can be convicted of intentional homicide for attempting to kill.
