Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians joined together to lift a double-decker bus off the legs of a trapped cyclist in Walthamstow, north-east London on Thursday.

A video (above) captured by a woman from a building near to the site of the accident shows dozens of people working together to lift the 12 tonne 212 bus off the unicyclist trapped under its wheels.

A second video shows the scene from a waiting car, shows the scene from ground level

In a statement, a spokesman for Scotland Yard said:

“Police were called at 5.50pm to a bus in collision with a unicyclist in Hoe Street, E17.

“The male unicyclist was taken by ambulance to an east London hospital where his condition is believed to be serious.

“The bus – a route 212 – stopped at the scene. There has been no arrest.”
