UKIP, Ryanair, and Facebook are some of the top ten most hated brands in the UK, while Amazon, Cadbury, and the BBC are some of the nation’s favourites, according to a new survey.

London ad agency isobel in association with OnePoll, asked 1,500 UK consumers to identify brands they loved and hated.

Political parties dominated the list of hated brands, with UKIP being crowned as the most hated brand in the country, followed by the Conservatives in second. Despite being in coalition with the Tories since 2010, the Lib Dems were sixth in the list, one place behind the Labour Party.

The British public also seem to fall further towards the “hate” than “love” of Marmite at the moment, with the yeast extract spread coming in third, while McDonald’s, KFC, and Starbucks also made the list of most hated.

The stingy budget airline that once threatened making passengers pay to use the toilet, Ryanair, was the only travel company to provoke a strong reaction, and was the fourth most hated brand.

Technology companies have a mixed reputation in the UK, with Facebook the ninth most hated brand, but Amazon the most loved and Google the sixth most popular.

The BBC and ITV are also cherished by the British public, while Cadbury, Walkers, Heinz, and Kellogg’s in the top ten show the nation’s love of food.
