The first new railcard in 30 years has been launched, offering two people travelling together savings of a third on various train fares.

The Two Together railcard costs £30 per year and can be used any number of times by the two people photographed on it on Standard Anytime, First Class Anytime, Off-Peak and Advanced journeys made after 09.30 Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and bank holidays.

Rail firms have said that they expect holders of the new ticket to save more than £100 per year.

As an example of the savings, a pair of Super Off-Peak Return tickets travelling from Edinburgh to London would normally cost £262, but with a Two Together railcard this journey would cost £172.90 – a saving of £89.10.
