Two people have died in an explosion at an industrial estate in Norwich.

The incident occurred at 09:20 BST at Harford Attachments, located at the Hellesdon industrial estate on Spar Road in Norwich.

Two men, both believed to work at the industrial unit, are believed to have died as a result of their injuries from the explosion. Three people were also treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service.

Norfolk Police said:

“Initial reports from the scene suggested an explosion had taken place. The men, one aged in his 50s and one in his 20s, both thought to work at the premises involved, died as the result of the incident shortly after 9am. No-one else required medical attention.”

Harford Attachments creates buckets for the front of diggers, and the explosion is believed to have ignited in a room used for paint spraying.
