Shoppers on London’s Victoria Street were surprised to find the Topshop storefront swarming with bees.
Trained beekeepers were brought in to manage the 5,000-strong swarm, collect the bees, and move them to nearby Westminster Cathedral, where beekeepers can look after them on the roof.
A local beekeeper told reporters that it was most likely a virgin or old Queen bee that left the nest and brought the swarm to the shop window
“We have either had a virgin Queen or an old Queen, she has left the nest and she has brought the swarm and settled on the shopfront.”
It is not yet clear where the bees had come from.
