Hundreds of passengers have been evacuated from a train in the Channel Tunnel after overhead power lines became detached early this morning.
382 people and four dogs were led into the middle service tunnel after the France-bound train was stopped around a quarter of the way (12km) through the Eurotunnel at around 07:30 due to “fallen catenary“.
Passengers posted photographs to social media of the evacuation:

A second train was brought alongside the first in the second tunnel to allow the stranded passengers to be transported to the French terminal.
Four trains were cancelled as a result of the fault and delays throughout the day.
This article originally stated that it was a Eurostar train that was evacuated. This was incorrect, and the article has been amended.
