A cyclist caused hour-long delays and travel chaos this morning after a smartphone app directed him to cycle on the M25 during rush hour.
The cyclist joined the motorway around junctions 12 and 13, and obliviously continued to cycle along the hard shoulder until forcibly removed by police. He was also fined £50.
Surrey Police live-tweeted the incident:

Cyclist stopped and after a long conversation he has been safely removed with his copy of his ticket for £50.

Motorists were less forgiving of the cyclists actions, with many dubbing him “stupid” and an “idiot” for not knowing the highway code.
