A 15-year-old boy has died after being taken ill during an illegal rave in south London on Saturday night.

The boy is suspected to have died from complications from drinking a bottle of beer laced with the ketamine, a horse tranquilliser and party drug, whilst at the party, according to the Croydon Advertiser.

A 19-year-old is in a stable but serious condition after drinking from the same bottle.

Around 1,000 revellers attended the illegal rave in the former Royal Mail delivery office in East Croydon on Saturday night.

Nine people were arrested following the rave for offences including drugs, violent disorder, and money laundering, but it is not yet clear who organised the rave. Party-goers reportedly found out about the event through Facebook.
