Kury Cobain mocks Courtney Love in note found in his wallet after 1994 suicideA note found by police inside the wallet of Nirvana frontman Kury Cobain after his 1994 suicide offers an insight into his turbulent relationship with his wife Courtney Love.

The existence of the note was first reported about on by CBS News after a Freedom of Information request for evidence collected at Cobain’s suicide earlier this year when Nirvana fans around the world were marking the 20 anniversary of his death.

The note, handwritten on paper form the Phoenix hotel in San Francisco, includes a section where it says:

Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife even when shes (sic) a bitch with zits and siphoning all yr (sic) money for doping and whoring

Cobain’s marriage to Courtney Love, with whom he had a child, was known to be tempestuous, and the variation between the insults of this note contrast with the admiration his family displayed for her in his suicide note, where he said:

I have a goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy and a daughter who reminds me too much of what i used to be, full of love and joy, kissing every person she meets because everyone is good and will do her no harm. And that terrifies me to the point to where I can barely function. I can’t stand the thought of Frances becoming the miserable, self-destructive, death rocker that I’ve become.
