Holy Esque

Glasgow based band Holy Esque will return this March with a new single, “St”.

According to front man and guitarist Pat Hynes, the song revolves aroundappreciation and belief, in life and in one’s self”. Not that you can understand a word he’s saying on the record. We’re going to admit it; sometimes the sheep like wavering of Hynes’ vocal grates beyond comparison to early< strong>Conor Oberst. Fortunately most of the time Holy Esque turn their amps up high enough to blot out the peculiarity and make good of the chiming riffs in their possession.

Formed in 2011, the band is comprised of Hynes, Keir Reid, Hugo McGinley and Ralph McClure; four self-sufficient Glaswegians who pen their own material as well as producing their own art work and doodles. Last year saw the release of their debut self-titled EP and follow up single “Tear”, as well as teaming up with Kevin Burleigh, who’s previously worked with Glasvegas and Simple Minds.

The song is due out as a self-release on March 25th. Hear it streamed below.
