Marshall Mathers III will play his first London show in 13 years when he takes to the stage at Wembley in July.

Eminem will be the first rapper to headline the 90,000 seat stadium on 11 July, with the event being put on in response to him being told he couldn’t play Hyde Park. He told fans:

“I heard that I wasn’t going to be approved to play in Hyde Park and it made me even more excited to play in London this summer.

The easiest way to get me to do something is to tell me I can’t do it. Thanks to the Royal Parks for making it all possible… for Wembley.”

The rapper will release his new single Headlights, with a video directed by Spike Lee, to coincide with the show.

Tickets for the Wembley show will go on sale at 9am on Friday 9 May.
