Following the news of reboots for other 1980s cartoon favourites Dangermouse and Bananaman, SuperTed is also being rebooted for the small screen.
Original series creator Mike Young is working on 26 new episodes of the show, and original voice artists Derek Griffiths (SuperTed) and and Melvyn Hayes (Skeleton) are reported to be in talks to join the project.
There is currently no word on who may take over from Jon Pertwee (Spotty) and Victor Spinetti (Texas Pete), both of whom have died since the series went off air.
The original series ran from 1983 to 1985 and features an “ordinary” factory-rejected stuffed bear who was brought to life by an alien called “Spotty” to become SuperTed.
