An animated public service announcement from Melbourne’s Metro Trains about dumb ways to die has been named as the best television advertisement in the world, winning five prizes, at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity.
The cutesy commercial was produced by McCann Melbourne, with the top 10 global iTunes chart soundtrack music written by Cat Empire keyboardist Ollie McGill and performed by Tinpan Orange frontwoman Emily Lubitz.
The five grand prix-winning advert was originally published to YouTube in November 2012 and has since been viewed more than 50 million times.
