English towns are burning satirical effigies of former SNP leader Alex Salmond and former president of the European Commission Manuel Barroso as part of their Guy Fawkes night celebrations.
The effigy of Salmond wearing a kilt and holding a “Yes” badge and a sign saying “45%”, the proportion of Scots that voted for independence from the United Kingdom in the recent referendum, will be burnt on the community bonfire in Lewes, East Sussex.
