Readers of film bible Empire magazine have voted on their fifty greatest films of all time, with “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back” topping the poll.

In its first “Greatest Movie” poll since 2008, 250,000 movie fans voted for a total of 301 movies, with the first Star Wars sequel beating out competition from The Godfather and the recent Batman movie The Dark Night, to take the title.
