The film censorship authorities in the US have deemed a poster of Eva Green promoting the upcoming Sin City sequel A Dame To Kill For, claiming that it shows “nudity”.

The poster shows Green with stylised green eyes, and red lipstick and nail, in a nearly sheer nightgown and holding a gun, with the words:

“I’ve been especially bad”

The MPAA’s banned the use of the poster in the promotion of the film, which they outline as:

“Nudity — curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown.”

The move by the MPAA censors comes as a number of celebrities including Scout Willis and Caitlin Stasey are making waves by posing topless in protest against the censorship of the female body by companies such as Facebook and Instagram under the banner of #freethenipple. Both social media companies have blocked accounts for photographs of women breastfeeding their children under their “no nudity” clause.
