The police have launched a match-fixing investigation of the upcoming World Cup friendly between Scotland and Nigeria, according to a report by the Telegraph.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) have reportedly asked FIFA to issue an alert over potential attempts to rig the game that is due to be played at Craven Cottage on Wednesday evening.
The Scottish Football Association (SFA) have been working closely with the NCA after the game was “red flagged”, with officials hoping that the police can bust any crime syndicates involved before the start of the World Cup in just over two weeks.
In an effort to stop match fixing in Brazil, a hotline will be available to all players and referees to report anything suspicious.
