A baby has miraculously survived a fall from an eleventh storey balcony in Minneapolis in the US.

15-month-old Musa Dayib sustained fractures to both arms and a ventilator is currently helping him to breath, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

The soft “mulchy” ground where he fell and the ‘flexibility’ of young children are believed to have contributed to his survival, with an adult likely to have died from such a fall, according to the local Star Tribune newspaper.

Dr Tina Slusher, who treated Musa, told local broadcaster Kare 11 that it was a “miracle” that the baby survived.

A local meeting is being held to discuss the situation surrounding the fall to try and prevent another similar accident occurring in the future.
