XStat Dressing by RevMedX
Bleeding out from a gunshot wound is the leading cause of death on the battlefield, with medics packing the wound with gauze to try and stem the flow.
A new medical syringe-link device, called an XStat Dressing from RevMedX, aims prevent some of these gunshot deaths, by injecting numerous mini-sponges into the wound in a matter of seconds. These sponges are made from wood pulp and coated with chitosan, a blood-clotting, antimicrobial substance, and within 15 seconds after injection they expand to fill the whole cavity.
