Huge waves have continued to batter the southern coast of England and Wales, with weather forecasters warning of more flooding and winds up to 110 km/h.
Waves reaching 8m have been recorded at Land’s End, Cornwall, with huge waves also recorded at Porthcawl harbour, south Wales.
The volume of sand lost from the harbour at Newquay due to the storms lashing the beach, that a previously unknown shipwreck has been uncovered.
The stormy weather has caused travel disruption across the road and rail networks around the country, with a number of locations flooded for the second time since Christmas.
The Thames Barrier was closed for the ninth tide in a row at 15:00 GMT, but is expected to reopen at 19:30.
More than 1,700 properties have been flooded across England since the storms arrived shortly before Christmas.
