Six people have been injured in a stabbing attack in the Ballyduff Gardens area of Newtownabbey.

The stabbings are understood to have been a domestic incident that occurred at properties close to one another at around 16:00 yesterday, with the NI Ambulance Service called to transport those injured to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Describing the events, a neighbour told UTV that the attack was “shocking”, and John McPoland, from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, told the BBC that it “looks like some kind of frenzied attack”.

Police remain at the scene and an investigation is underway, although the police are not looking for any other parties in connection with the attack at this stage.
