Ten people have died, with many more people injured, after a gunman opened fire outside a shopping centre in the German city of Munich.
After a hours-long city-wide manhunt, Munich Police say they have found the body of the man they believe to have been the attacker. He is understood to have committed suicide and his body was discovered around 1km from the shopping centre.
In a statement, the police said:
“We found a man, who killed him himself. We assume, that he was the only shooter.”
Authorities have given a ‘cautious all clear’ to residents and public transport has resumed, after suspending all train, tram, bus, and underground services during the manhunt.
A single gunman opened fire at the Olympia shopping centre in the north-western Moosach district of the city shortly at 17:50 local time (18:50 BST).
The motive of the attacker remains unknown.

The mass shooting follows an attack on train passengers in Bavaria on Monday, where five people were injured by a 17-year-old Afghan migrant with an axe. The attacker is believed to have supported the Islamic State (Daesh).
