Five people have been left seriously injured after two double-decker buses collided in Brighton city centre.
Emergency services were called to Queen’s Road, near the Clock Tower, at 09.22 BST, and the ambulance service have declared the crash a major incident, Sussex Police have said.
According to South East Coast Ambulance Service, seven patients were taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, including two male patients in a life-threatening condition.
A further six patients with non life threatening injuries have been taken to Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, and a number of other patients were checked over by ambulance clinicians for minor injuries before being discharged at the scene.
Drivers have been urged to avoid the city centre, while emergency and recovery crews clear the scene.
