The UK economy grew by 2.6% last year, a rise of 0.9% from 2013, according to official figures.

The Office of National Statistics (ONS) found that the economy grew by 0.5% in the final quarter of 2014, a decline of 0.3% from the three months prior, but a 2.7% rise on the same quarter a year ago.

The largest contributor to the growth in the final three months of 2014 was the services sector, which grew by 0.8%, and agriculture, which rose by 1.3%. However, output decreased by 1.8% in construction and 0.1% in production over the same period.
